ISBT 2012 Scholarship Recipients

The International Society of Beverage Technologist is pleased to announce the Scholarship winners for 2012. Click on any of the images for a high resolution version of the photo.

Claire Burtch

Claire Burtch

Claire is a food science major at Purdue University. She currently works in the phytochemical laboratory in the food science department, assisting in models of degradation kinetics of natural pigments, anthocyanins, in model beverage systems and performing two types of analysis: 1-pH differential total monomeric anthocyanin content and 2- the solid phase extraction of anthocyanins for HPLC-MS analysis.

In addition to her lab experience, Claire also studied abroad in France, where she completed language, culture and agriculture classes, and worked on a local kiwi farm. She is a member of the Food Science Club and the Agricultural Honors Learning Community at Purdue. Claire also serves as a University Residence Global mentor, McCutcheon Hall 5th Floor Senator, Purdue Christian Campus House office volunteer, and Greyhouse Coffee Shop volunteer.

She is a College of Agriculture Dean's Scholar and a member of the University Honors Program. Claire is also a recipient of the Trustees Scholarship and the Institute of Food Technologists Feeding Tomorrow Scholarship Recipient.


Jaclyn McNally

Jaclyn McNally

Jaclyn is a packaging major at Michigan State University. Last summer, she participated in the Packaging Engineer Co-Op Program at Campbell's Soup Company. She gained experience in focus group testing and research, supported packaging feasibility trials and start-up production of new products, and conducted packaging and performance tests.

Jaclyn is a member of the Michigan State University Institute of Packaging Professionals and Pi Kappa Gamma: Michigan State University Chapter. She also participated in a 2011 study abroad program in the United Kingdom.


Kelsey Tenney

Kelsey Tenney

Kelsey is a food science major at Purdue University. She currently works in a food science laboratory at Purdue, preparing samples and assisting with experiments related to the shelf-life of vitamins.

Kelsey is a member of the Food Science Club, Alpha Lambda Delta Phi Eta Sigma Honors Society, Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority and Purdue Fashion Association. She holds several leadership positions on campus.

In addition to her involvement on campus, Kelsey is a Purdue University Dean's Scholar, a member of the Honors Program and a recipient of both the Trustee's Scholarship and the Institute of Food Technologists Scholarship.
